Villa Velia is an 18th century Tuscan stone house that is surrounded by olive trees, with lovely views across the valley below. Nestled into a secluded and quiet location, you are fully immersed in nature with trails and paths that are lovely for taking walks in the fresh air, all the while being located just 5 km from the hill town of Cortona. Having been recently renovated, this stunning property provides all new amenities that you might need for a comfortable stay. The 5-bedroom / 5-bathroom villa is spread over two floors and an annex, and can host up to 10 guests total.

The ground floor includes a fully equipped modern kitchen and separate dining room, a large sitting room as well as one of the double bedrooms with bathroom. On the first floor there are three additional double bedrooms (one can be a twin) all with ensuite bathrooms.

Outside the main house, there is a separate annex with another double bedroom and bathroom. In the large garden, there is a swimming pool where you can cool off from the Tuscan sun, or lounge and enjoy good company on the terrace, all of which are illuminated at night. There is also a wonderful limonaia (conservatory) constructed from wrought iron and insulated glass that is perfect for a relaxing break during the day, with a book or afternoon tea, or of course for late afternoon and evening aperitivo!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

HEATING – Heating is available on consumption and must be paid directly on the spot to the owner or his/her representative before departing. Please note that heating in Italy, when not subject to restrictions by the local Government, is more expensive compared to other countries. If you look for a property in low season, make sure to ask for an estimate of the heating cost. You may be asked a supplementary deposit for heating expenses.

WATER AND ELECTRICITY – Please note that most of the properties that we offer are not the typical purpose-built Mediterranean holiday villas. Most are converted farmhouses or former manor houses, full of character and history. Water shortages do occur; please use it sparingly during the summer months. At the same time, Italy is probably one of the few countries in the world where the government has introduced a system of electricity limitators to contain the national consumption. This means you must be careful when using more than one appliance at once because the limitator will shut the electricity off.

Policies and requirements

Cancellation

Cancel up to 60 days before your trip and only pay 30% of the total accommodation fees for the reservation.
Cancel within 60 days of the trip and the reservation is non-refundable.

All credit card holders must be aged 21 years and older at the time of booking. According to Italian law (ART. 109 – TULPS), the owners and/or managers of any touristic structure are required to register their guests with the authorities prior to allowing their access to the facilities. In order to facilitate the registration, process you will be required to provide complete contact details (name, last name, address, telephone number etc.), a copy of the passport and the authorization to hold these details in accordance to law (D. Lgs. 196/2003) on privacy protection, prior to your arrival at the property. This information cannot be used to promote, sell, solicit any service or product to you and is required only for the individual responsible for the rental agreement. For late check in (after 8 pm) an extra cost of 50,00 euros is required to be paid in cash upon arrival.
